View Full Version : Payment for fall clean-up on June 17

My next door neighbor is a divorced 60 something pita woman. I did her fall clean-up of 4 hours and "charged" her 3 thick rib-eye steaks, which she never gave me. On June 17 (wife's birthday) she give's the wife a small package with a card. In the card is a note saying here's 2 steaks I owe Bruce, Happy Birthday!

That takes some guts. To give "my" payment to the wife as a birthday present. Gotta wonder if she stopped her "meds" or was maybe "self-medicating" (drinking large amounts of alchol). We just laughed.

I didn't want to help her in the first place, wife's idea. So to keep peace in the family I helped her out. She is always crying poor mouth, so you know the drill, bla bla bla. Normally I would have charged her $250. but I just did the job and she asked how much and I said three big rib-eye steaks and we'll be OK. It's just funny she gave my payment as a gift to the wife.

She was thinking she was helping you out until you got your self a real job.Cleaning up leaves, not real work, you need to be working in a factory at $ 8 bucks an hour to have a real job. That is a common mind set it seems. But the real question is"How were the steaks?" MMMMMMM sounds good:-)
