So I call down to city hall to get some info on getting my small business license. I talk to the lady for a minute and she asks what it's for. I tell her that it's for a mowing lawns. She asks if I am in high school or college. I tell her college. She says nah don't need one. I said is there some chance that I could be fined or some sort of penalty? She says tell them you talked to me...

Should I go ahead and get the license anyway? I only want to do residential. The only thing it would bring me is credibility?

Thanks for the suggestions ahead of time.

Don't need one for mowing here either. But you do need one for landscaping.

you may not need a license to mow but you may need one to operate a business in city limits, check it out.

Hi Grass_Nerd,

What city and county are you located in? Maybe we can find something online for you.
