8' bed with no side boards. Can I fit 2 full yards in it?
I don't do a lot of mulch jobs, but they've usually been over 5 yds and are delivered by the supplier.
Just have a little job to do tomorrow and don't want to pay for delivery on such a small job.

2 yards no problem,3 yards with a tarp and not far to go. If the mulch is wet it's a pretty good load in a half ton.

I agree with dvm. Two yards will be no problem.

Thanks. It's an F-250. I've had ONE yard in it before, but I had 18" side boards on it then. I no longer use the sides and wasn't sure how high up two yards was going to be.
Need to throw a wheelbarrow, shovels and rakes on top, and just didn't want to be spilling over the sides.

4x8 in the center of the bed x 18 inches =48cubic feet
there are 27 cu ft in a yard so 54 in 2
There is plenty of extra space in front and back of the wheelwells so 2-3 yards is realistic.
carefull driving you could be pretty heavy at 3 yards.

I usually get two yards and its pretty full on my dodge 2500 with 8 foot bed.I dont know if i would go with more than 2 and a half.

Thanks guys. Did it today, two fit just fine. No problem at all.
If I was going to do 3, I would need some side boards or it would have been spilling over the bed. But 3 would fit with some simple 10" side boards.
Now weight is a different issue, but it would have fit.
Thanks again all.

Three yards in my 99' F-250 once and that was the most I'd ever put in it again.

You guys are babying your trucks. Three yards, F-150.
Check your tires first, and go for it.
Of course that's an 8 foot bed, anything shorter ain't a truck.
