Should I be overly concerned about the limited ground clearance the small wheels at the lower rear part of the Super Z?

They look like little wheelie bars and am not sure what purpose they serve. Is the unit so tipsy that it needs them to make sure you don't flip it over?

I'm trying to decide whether to go with a Super Z but am concerend about those wheels back there. They definitely limit the steepness of a ditch that you can cross perpendicularly.

You should not have any concern on the rear wheels.
They are there for steep angle trailer ramps mostly, but would also help prevent the unit from flipping in a extreme case, you will find the Hustler products to be the best on slopes, so this is not a concern I would have.
I have never had a complaint on them in 4 years we have used them.

Those wheels saved my butt once. Going up the trailer ramp while the trailer was parked on a steep driveway. I pulled one heck of a wheelie. If it wasn't for those wheels, I would have flipped.
