View Full Version : Anyone used the TANAKA TBC230 trimmer?

I read an article in a magazine about it. It is very light and has 1.1 hp (plenty for me). Do any of you have experience with Tanaka (never seen it except online) or with their trimmers, or even better with this one? Thanks for any help!

If the article you read was in Turf magazine, then I'm the one that did the testing for the article. I think it's a great little trimmer for residential work.

My old Tanaka trimmer was the best I've had. And there was no primer bulb on it, and started great.

Dont know that trimmer particularly, but love my other tanakas. I have had a few throttle cable issues over the years, but 5 years later i still use it daily. I say go for it. You wont be sorry.

Well the only concern I have is it is only about $190-200. Do you think it is durable enough for commercial duty?

Well they certainly do look good, but my Husqvarna dealer had the rep come in with a bunch of demo equipment. It included their top of the line backpack blower (165BT) for $250 and their best trimmer (326LX - absolutely awsome trimmer, muuuuuch better than my Echo and lighter) for $150. I couldn't pass them up, but thanks for the reply.
