View Full Version : resurfacing sidewalks

I know this is a little away from lawn care, but, I have a customer that has a nice cement sidewalk. Is there anyway that I can resurface it by laying another type of stone ontop of the existing concrete. Would I have to attatch it to the walkway with another adhesive?????? It really is in good condition so tearing it out is not necessary...

Does the customer want a new look or is the concrete dirty and stained and need to be covered?

Are you talking about "capping " the walk with stone, like flagstone? If so, thoroughly clean the walk with a 1% muratic acid soultion, scrape away any cracked , flaking pieces. Then pre-treat it with a concrete bonding sealer, let it dry, then use some mortar/ portland mix, and set and level your new stones. After it has dried for a week, go back and apply some masonry sealer to protect and enhance the beauty of the stone.
