is there a specific oil that should be used on a walk behind, or do you use, say, 10 w 40? kawi motor

I use 10W 30 in my 15 HP Kawasaki V-Twin engine on my Bob-Cat (which I love!!!).

I use 30 weight on my Scag W/B with the 15 Kawi twin.

WD-40 does well on mine. but some people don't like it because it is real thin and doesn't last long.

I use 30 weight Castrol and add 20% Lucas to it.

I use Pennzoil 10w30 in every 4 stroke engine I have.

If I'm not mistaken, it's Sae 30 weight in the Kawi's and 10w30 in the Kohlers.

I put 10W30 on mine, but it boiled and smoked real bad when it heated up.

Kaw says engines with multi-weights will use more oil.
I would do what they recommend and use 30.
I saw way too much consumption in my 12.5 when using 10-40......

Kohler has their own oil and after working in a shop last year, I would recommend using it. It's not supposed to foam. The owner and mechanics at the shop tell Kohler owners to use it.

I think on Kawi's they say to use just straight 30w.
