I have a locked up Kawasaki FC420V motor on my 36" Scag WB. I have been told that I could buy a Kohler CV15 that would replace it and be a direct bolt on with no modifications. How true is that?

I am not a gear head, so any suggestions would be welcomed. I would like to replace it with the Kawasaki, but it is a few hundred dollars more than the Kohler. So if the Kohler would fit just fine, and it has a little more HP, then I am all for it.

If you are going to "lock up" engines, better a Kholer than a Kawasaki.

Push come to shove it may be a hole off you can drill this.

Not 100% sure make it work or pay.

Yeah - the bolt patterns are the same for the Kaw and the kohlers.

Remember to check the crankshaft size and length. The wiring will have to be changed over to match. In fact the wiring may be your biggest problem. I say go for it. For me Kohlers are easier for me to work on than Kaw. Just remember to check that crankshaft.

I did the same thing and I had to change the electric and that was it...no big deal!
