That's a rate of 1 in 20. This is a VERY generous estimate. I think you'll find in reality you will get 1 in MAYBE 50. This will give you an actual figure of 40 calls out of 2000 flyers handed out. Out of those 40 calls, how many of those will be actual sales. One positive thing about this though, atleast you will be targeting a specicific area that you desire.

We will be handing out 2000 door hangers and on a national average a return of 5% is very-very likely, so that will generate 100 new customers, and at 2.5% thats still 50 well worth it. In the last 2 years our percent rate in retured contracts have been 80% which means 85% of all our proposals have been accepted, thats a remarkable return considered that 75% are commercial.

Ron- wanted to save you some time by telling you to go to nebs.com. They have thought of the business card attachment to the door hanger. 5oo of these would run a first time buyer 45.00 approx. They hold alot of info about your services and look good. I averaged 10% callback on these my third and fourth yr. The rest of them I used to give inquiring customers.

Tried pics with digital camera look bad. They are like the one Bill posted, has Ideal Landscaping up top, then we put our own wording in and at bottom has a detachable business card with our name address and logo on it. 2000 to hand out I think these will be one of the best advertising i can do in areas i presently dont work in.

The picture posted is from NEBS site. You put whatever wording you like on it, or choose from preprinted formats. They have a detachable business card. I am having them make up a batch to hang on doors, indicating services performed when the homeowner wasnt there. 500 for $50 if I remember. Also ordering magnetic business cards, @.87 each.

NEBS also did a batch of christmas cards for me, I was very pleased and so were my customers.

I am sure it depends on the area, etc. But I would say the above estimate is very generous as well. We do tens of thousands of fliers per year and have for several years. The results we get are never 100 calls for 2000 fliers. And we have excellent fliers and are laying them in very good neighborhoods in a the largest boom area of the state.

Still, I love fliers. They do produce good results. And the good thing is that if you lay enough of them, they ALWAYS produce results. It's a numbers game.

I find that in the dead of winter we usually have to lay about 300-500 before we'll get a call. Some people will save these fliers until spring and summer too. But immediately, we only get one call per several hundred. In the spring, which is the best time of year for us, I'd estimate we get 2-3 calls per 100 that we lay.

I never do the door hanger type. We have very professional black and white copies that we put inside their door handles. They cost me 2 cents each, or $20 per thousand. This is very affordable and seem to work well.

Below is an example of one of our old fliers. We used this one about 2 years ago. We've since changed it now that we offer full landscaping services. But the format is pretty much the same.

Nice flyers Jim they were done up very nice, on higher middle class and high class neighboorhoods we include one like yours with door hangers. Our return rate on bids for 2000 fiscal year was 80% and for flyer return we passed out 200 local only and got 15 customers. We are expanding to areas we dont serve to expand area so if we pass out 2000 I see getting a minium of 50 accounts which itself will be a good return. We market to develoments and ocean and lake side properties. We will be working with a few developers this new year for new develoments they are building (we will be hydroseeding and landscape construction) so im sure at least 1/2 will get on board for maintenance. Once agian that was a nice flyer you done up!
