Hi All:

Starts and runs just fine for about 20 minutes and then stops. Acts like it has run out of gas. After it cools for about 4 hours, it does the same thing.

I have done the following recently:

Changed fuel filter
Changed Plugs
Changed oil and filter (oil level is correct)
Checked carb and fuel pump
New air filter and prefilter

What have I missed?

Also, this tractor has been imposible to re-start when hot from day 1. Any ideas?

This tractor is in its 10th season.

Thanks

Bob

Your coil may be gettting hot. Next time it shuts down check for spark while it is still hot.

Had the exact same problem here, with the same engine!

Replaced the coil assembly. It is a 1 piece unit that incorporates both spark plug wires.

While you have things apart, take the opportunity to clean out the cooling fins on the engine. This engine is bad for getting build-up in the fins. I could not believe the build up in mine (on a 10-12 year old Bobcat T3100). Take off as many heat covers as you can to do this.

It'll run like a new one when you are done!

i would have to agree with the coil being the issue..
me personally, i wouldnt have one of those engines. in 11 years of dealing with mowers, i have never liked the way that engine runs...always seem to have carb issues...
but that has just been me and my experience...
