I just bought a new mower and the owner's manual says to run the front of the deck 1/4" higher than the rear. I always heard the opposite - 1/4" lower in the front. Which is it?

Front 1/4" lower than back from what I have read. Thats how I have mine.

Actually, the rake angle refers to the blade, not the deck. When pointing straignt ahead, the front blade tip should be 1/8 - 1/4 inch lower than the rear tip.
