I've got a JD 655 that I'm thinking about putting a front loader bucket on. However, the 655 is not 4wd and several people have told me that I should really have a 4wd unit if I want to put a front loader on it.
Does anyone have any opinions/advice on this ? Thanks for your input (I'm new to the 655 and value your experience).

I have a J.D. 750 with a front loader, and I can tell you that without 4x4 your not going to move a lot of stuff with the loader.

Buy an new tractor. If it doesn't have 4 wheel drive, you can forget about moving anything. Been there done that with a buddy's machine. Only fix was 500lb of counter weight and loaded tires. Still can't dig with it, only loose materials.
