What kind of question is that?! You pick up the mess you made, including the leaves. Do what Lawnzzz said or if you mow them too, blow the leaves into the yard and mow them up.

JBell I'm assuming most of your bushes are mulched with pinestraw. If they are just rake the pinestraw out about 2 feet from the shrub. Trim shrub. Put the pinestraw back.

Actually most are red Mulch beds

Do the same thing then. Pull the mulch back a few feet. Trim shrubs. Pick up the larger stuff. Put mulch back.

I handle all bush trimming jobs this way...
I blow all clippings into yard...and mulch over them till there are no more leaves...then pick up any big branches left.
I can think of no easier way.

I pick up all the big stuff and mulch the rest with the mower.

A rake & a trash can.

I use old bed sheets and put them around the bottom of the bushes and clean up only takes a few minutes

Pinestraw, bark, double-hammered...just blow it into the lawn (my Stihl does it on 'idle' w/out taking much of the mulch along for the ride) and bag it with a mower. An hour's worth of trimming is cleaned in less than ten minutes.
if the bushes are in mulch or rocks that blow out easy ..i put down tarps....if the bushes have heavy rock like river rock or bare dirt ..i blow out onto the lawn ..suck em up with a vac.

I see a few of you guys are mulching up your trimmings. Are any of you using a Qwikchute to help with this? Many of our customeres find this to be an easy way to recycle trimming on the job site. Just toss the trimmings into lawn and close the Qwikchute down and mulch away, quick and easy.

I use my echo vacuum blower and suck up the smaller stuff and blow anything else into the lawn and mulch it up with the mower.

Mulch beds we rake it out into the lawn and pick it up. In rock beds we just blow it out into the lawn with the handheld and rake. And we do over 1000 man hrs of shrub trimming every year.

I use the lawnbagg. You can load up quite a bit of clippings in there are drag it away easily.
I leave the bag near the base of the shrubs and some of it falls in there without any pickup.
I work solo and having this greatly cuts down on cleanup.
