i have 3 and 1 half acres of fairly flat but bumpy property with
a lot of trees and i would like some opinions. the only dealers
within an hour of me is dixie chopper- grasshopper and skag.
i was hoping for a look at exmark but its 60 miles away however
of the 3 what are the pros and cons. looking for 50 or 52 cut.

get the turf tiger from scag

You will find the Grasshopper rides and handles a lot smoother than the Scag. It is much easier to service, and has a better warranty last time I checked.

Of the 3 I'd go with a scag.

If you are a homeowner, and are only going to be doing this once a week during the growing season...any of those will do a fine job. They are all commercial quality mowers, designed to be used every day for hours a day...you should have no problems with any of them.
I would shop for who's the most reputable dealer first...then shop price. All the mowers will do you good.
As a commercial mower, my preference would be Skag. Things are built like tanks. But, get something you can ride on...you'll enjoy everything more...and will be sitting at your window wondering if the grass is long enuf to mow yet :)
