what time of year is a good time to trim hedges? new to the lawncare biz. do different hedges need to be trimed at differen times of the year ? was just wondering thank you for any help

Depends on the hedge...Generally, just trim 'em as needed.
However, if it's a "flowering" hedge, try not to trim the buds off right before it blooms.
We have some hedges here, Photinia Frazers, that generally should be trimmed after their spring growth turns green. The New growth on these things is a dark burgundy color (hence the name, red tips), and it's at this time the plant utilizes iron the most...trimming the red before it turns green, can cause the plant to become "chlorotic" and yellow.
Like I said...it depends on the bush. But, generally speaking...trim as needed. Just avoid trimming a flowering hedge right before it blooms.
