I went to a site the other day that I overseeded with pre-annual rye and theres dead spots all over from the dogs. I heard you can put garlic in there food to help prevent there urine from burning the grass or put lime on the spots to neutralize them. Do you know of any other tips I can use to help prevent these dead patches from accuring. Thanks for your help

I guess the only way to stop the dead spots from the dogs
is to talk to their owners and ask them if they would
be willing to give their dogs a supplement.

Also heard that giving a dog 2 tablespoons a day of tomato juice works, but I have never tried it to know for sure.

Females urine kills the turf and Males kill the shrubs, stop signs and fire hydrants. Theres not much differene in the urine itself, just where they put it.

My thought would be if the owner immediately watered the area where the dog urinated it would be diluated by the water.
