View Full Version : uneven terrain with WB
i have a 48" bobcat wb beltdrive. On most accounts the cut is great, but i have this one account where the terrain has these slight dips and small hills, and it leaves an eneven cut, is there a trick to fixing this (like raising the height?), or would a smaller 32" be better in this situation....

Sometimes cross cutting helps. If the deck doesn't float, there's not much else to do.

That's the way it is no matter what size cut you have. You have to read the terrain or be familiar with your mower and or properties.

I have a couple of jobs that my little exmark 36 can't cut completely cleanly because the little gullies and so on are just too small. I'm not going to break out my little 22" mower for much of this sort of thing. Customers by and large seem to understand this, though.

Raising the deck will make the cut look more even. 3 1/2" for me.

Try to mow along dips or hills in the grass. Don't mow into them and over them. It will either scalp or miss areas (depending on if it is a hill or dip, in that order).

Here's another tip...
...when you're done mowing, just go back and "feather" all of the uncut areas with a line trimmer. At least it looks better.
