I did a sod install about 2 months ago. The job was perfect. GREEN centipede, till now. Brown spots are appearing, and growing. I need to satisfy this client, and would love some insight on how to go about determining a cause.

I put down a killer for grubs prior to install as I saw them in the turf

If your not sure and really need some help try contacting your county extension office. You should have an agent that could come out and give you some advice. If you haven't already added some nitrogen to the grass now might ge a good time to do it. A little though cause centipede doesn't need a lot. If you have over done it with the fert then that could explain whats going on............but if it's a bug thing then call the extension office and set up a meet with an agent..........that's why they are there.

Might help if you stated exactly what fertilizer you applied and how much.
Centipede is different from most other grasses in terms of fertilizer requirements.
Also, a photo of the area would help.

It was a fertilome "starter" fert.
Did great, very green, now starting to brown in spots.
Can't provide photo right now.
