Why no MSRP in this industry?

I am currently in the market for a good ZTR and I have found that it's really hard to compare brands/models without the MSRp. Why aren't they published? Is it so that the dealers can make as much profit as possible?

I have 5-6 different dealers within 15 minutes of me that carry lots of different lines and there is virtually no way to get a price short of talking to a salesman. And they seem to get irritated whren asked about prices on different models.

Cub posts theirs on the website, not sure about others.

A good commercial grade ztr with 54-60 inch deck will run about 7000. out the door.
You can go up or down from there.

MSRP doesn't mean too much because they all have to be competitive.

thanks for the info. I also feel like my closest dealer knows i'm new and is trying to gouge me....Oh well.

get a price then ask the people on here but you have to give the engine and the deck setup im sure someone could guide you in the right direction
