I installed the GroundsKeeper software demo. I only have 6 customers but I may have a few more soon. Demo only works with 5 customers. Software looks OK to me. Just wondering if anyone has comments in regards to GroundsKeeper or other software for a new lawn care business. Thanks in advance.

I have always just stuck with Quickbooks...I have before looked into other software, and who knows, maybe I will switch sometime in the future. I would love to use RealGreen, but the price that they charge for it is TOO MUCH

I attempted to install Gopher software. Once I got the email with my code to download the software I could not get the download to work. I was probably doing it wrong. So, I got lazy and passed the opportunity to review. I will contact Gopher soon with my demo download problem. Thanks for the information BSDeality.

I have been using Gopher 2003 free 30 day trial for the month of august. I like it and am thinking of buying it.I did try grounds keeper but not for the full trial because I accidentally deleted it.Dumb ass.I may try it again.

I just use microsoft money 2003 business edition for my book keeping.

I only have 50 accounts, so routes, and employees is all stored in my head.

Well I finally got the Gopher software installed. Works great. The first thing I liked about Gopher is you can add more than 5 customers. GroundsKeeper limits me to 5 customers. I got 8 customers. Will demo Gopher for the month. Thanks for the info. on Gopher.

Any recommendations on scheduling software?? Hopefully something that will interact with QB. Looked at Qexpress, but did not like the 850 price tag....

I'm still using Gopher software. I like it. Works fine. But, I printed an estimate and the left column where the date of service goes is chopped off. Example: 8/15/200. The four is missing. How can I fix this. Thanks in advance Gopher.

Hi LCME,

That's going to be in your system settings, change your date from mm/dd/yyyy to mm/dd/yy in your windows set up. If you can't get this done, give us a call.

I've been looking into software as well. In fact I spent a good portion of time today looking into it and in the past month I've demo'd Groundskeeper, Gopher, some off brand program, & CLIP. I think I'll be going with Gopher as it is easiest to use (IMO), and does everything I need. Only wish it printed the job schedule so it looked like a calender which it doesn't.

Lawn Monkey, Qxpress, and RealGreen are others that I didn't look into very hard because of cost, but may be good programs.

Thanks for the information Gopher. I'll try to figure it out. So fare I'm using Gopher because I have 8 active and 9 inactive. Other software only allows 5 customers. I can not demo when I can only use 5. Prefer the 30 day trial best because I have unlimited customers to input as I go. Also, thanks Shadowroll and Up North for your inputs.

Hi UpNorth,

Only wish it printed the job schedule so it looked like a calender which it doesn't.

Thank you for the idea, if you would like to explain this to me in more detail please consider PM'ing me.

Hi LCME,

Try this,

Start button -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Regional Settings -> Date Tab -> change short date style to M/d/yy

See if that helps.
