no money to be made in freehold, i crossed that bridge, came right back over here where it's safe. the guys out that way are working for bread and water, can't compete.

Is it really that bad down there in Freehold? No complaints here in Morris, Somerset, and Union County.

the last estimate i gave there, said "the other guy" put in 3/8" red stone, for $50 a ton. i get almost tripple that.

It's a good thing you don't have customers in Freehold, you'd be too busy at the raceway to find time for their lawns.. ;)

If I was at a differnt point in my life I would think about moving up there. Bobby just makes me want to come up there and compete with him. sounds like fun to me

Bobby ... just think ... ten more customers for you to harass ... but are you really ready to triple your customer base? God I love this site ...

very funny, ha ha ha ha. grassy, you can't compete with me. i'm the only guy i know who : is overpriced, shows up when i feel like it, charges you anyway, runs over your stuff if you leave it in the lawn(and then gets YOU to apologize for leaving it there), harrasses you 24/7 if you're a day late on the bill, AND STILL retains more clients and gets more refferels than the guys who kiss butt, show up religously at the same time, same day every week, and lets them slide 2 months at a time on the bill. go figure. lawnjocky dig this, it's mid august, and i signed 3 customers this week alone.......now i'm up to 4. so anyhow, yes, while giving a quote in freehold, the guys knees buckled every time i named my price on the different services (mowing, shrub trimming, etc). he said he had the 3/8" red stone put in last season. how much would i charge? i told him in that quantity, i'd go like $110 a ton. he laughed, said it was put in for $50 a ton. i almost fell over. the properties up there are nice, and everyone seems to get everything, not just mow and blow. that's why i advertised up there, i really wanted to get something going in the area, but after like 12 estimates, i accepted the fact that i can't compete with the guys up there. thier pricing is very low, compared to my structure. but hey, if they can make it happen at those rates, good for them. it's just not my cup of tea
