View Full Version : Sharing brocures & flyers with each other...

01-04-2001, 11:41 PM
Seems there is a lot of talk lately about newsletters, flyers, and brocures, looks like every one is slowing down.

Maybe we can share files with each other. I use MS Publisher mostly and have some good flyers. Here is my new brocure which is printed in full color on HP brocure paper, they look awsome!

The front: http://www.unionturf.com/brocure1.htm

The Back: http://www.unionturf.com/brocure2.htm

What do ya'll think?

Can I pay you to do mine?!? Those were incredible. You really did a nice job on them. Would you post the publisher file on your site so I can take a closer look.

01-04-2001, 11:54 PM
I've tried to put it on my site, send me an email and I will attach the file.

01-04-2001, 11:58 PM
Looks quite professional.

Couldnt read the specifics, but seems to be a very clear and uncluttered format as many often do.

Job well done.

01-05-2001, 02:48 AM
E-mail me those brochures and I'll put them in the file section on my website.

01-05-2001, 10:41 AM
Those who requested the brocure I have been trying to send but to keeps failing. It's 4.7 mb so I may have to remove some of the larger photos. I'll keep trying.

01-05-2001, 11:04 AM
Ray, do you have the template for the brochure? It should be small enough for transmitting.

lawrence stone
01-05-2001, 11:18 AM
Ray you can't e-mail files of that size.

Go to https://www.idrive.com/ and upload the file to that server. Make sure you make the file public so a password is not needed.

Anyone then can retrieve the file. There is no need to for anyone who wants the file to even resister with I-drive.

BTW one will need to have a copy of MS pub to even open the file. It might also open with quick view plus.

Now take the pebble from my hand grasshopper.

01-05-2001, 12:25 PM
Ray -

Those look really nice. I also use publisher for mine but I don't make color copies. How much will that cost you to hav e about 1000 made? Can you zip the file and email it to us? If you have a free version of netzip you can do it. If not go to http://www.netzip.com and get yourself one. I like the layout not too clustered, what were those boxes on the inside right hand side about? Requesting service?

Looks good

01-05-2001, 12:26 PM
I emailed one of my flyers to people in PUB. and I was surprised to find out that noy alot of people used it. Convert it to a word doc. (even some couldn't open O 2k!) I suggest O 97, that server site sounds cool and I'm gonna try it. Maybe more people can read Adobe?

01-05-2001, 02:17 PM
I removed the color photos and it is now 748kb so I have mailed them.

Mike, I printed them on my HP color printer. I was really impressed on how the quality was when printed on the HP glossy brocure paper. They look so good I'm not sure if I would want to take them to a printer and have them printed, I may just buy more ink cartridges. :D

Dear Ray,

Thanks Ray!

01-07-2001, 03:36 PM
I have sent them to all that asked I think. If somehow I missed you please send me your email and I will get it too you. I may have sent it to you twice, if so sorry....no extra charge for the second.

So, there no one else out of 2000+ members who is willing to post/share their publications? I was really hoping we could share more files than one.

If you would have taken my advise by uploading the file to Idrive you would have made the file available to everyone w/o having to e-mail files to loads of people.

Hi there. Looks like something that would be very helpfull. Could you please send a copy to precision_landscape@yahoo.com
Thanks. Also does anyone have any sample doorknob hangers?
Thanks again.

01-08-2001, 05:19 PM
Stone, I have not ignored your advise and thanks for the idea. I have been trying to upload it to both x-drive and i-drive with no success. Seems it will get about 50% done and stop. I am going to burn it on a cd and take it to my wifes work and send over a T1 connection and see if that works.

BILL CRAIG....are you a member of the CGMA?? We have a meetingf tomorrow night (1-9) at 7:30 700 North Tryon Street. Give me a call..Nextel 24*8758 or 506-3929

01-08-2001, 05:19 PM
I'll take one to please Ray

01-08-2001, 06:52 PM
All right.....I finally got it uploaded to xdrive.com. So, click this link to download the whole thing, pics and all. Remember, you will need MS Publisher 98 > to open it, it's 4.0 mb so it may take a while.

If one of you get it downloaded please post to let me know it worked.

01-09-2001, 12:07 AM

Thanks for offering to share your brochure the membership. I did get it from xdrive.com and the download worked perfectly.

The brochure has a great layout and makes it easier for a novice like me to get some ideas.

Also, at first I thought I had only received one page, so if you aren't that familiar with MS Publisher, look in the bottom left corner to find the other page.

01-13-2001, 12:12 PM
If anyone else wants a copy of the brochure click here and you can download it: http://www.xdrive.com/share/978994333258uUZFofGnJXkVd3A8D4b3

Did any of you print it out on your computer, if so how did it look?

Am I doing something wrong?
I have MS pub. Do I need to do something with this program before I click the link?

I tried the link a couple of times and all I got was:
"This shared file is currently unavailable.
Your claim ticket appears to be invalid"

01-17-2001, 12:01 AM
it's the link...nothing to do with you

P.S. Your website is k___a__ also

Kirby: Downloaded your brochure. Well done, a very professional piece of work. Great information and material is presented very well. Pictures are very good. Thanks for sharing your work.

01-17-2001, 02:07 AM
No problem. Is there not anyone else out of 2000+ members willing to share?

01-17-2001, 02:21 AM
Ray, I would be more than happy to share our vast collection of forms and literature with the form, just let me know where the upload site is so we can keep everybody’s stuff in a central location. Attn. Yardsmith: now if I see the same stuff floating around the area with your name on it we got a problem buddy :)

Ray, I have MS Pub 97, and I can't open it either. I'd like to share mine also but Pub will not let me e-mail it.
Any body have any other suggestions on were to upload to download? Thanks, Dan

01-17-2001, 04:38 PM
Guy's, you can go to http://www.xdrive.com or http://www.idrive.com and upload them. Very simple process and it's free. With Xdrive.com you can share the file which emails a link to the file, I just email it to myself and copy and paste it as needed.

FYI, this is also a good place to back up your important files in the event you have a compter crash.

I cant help but notice that so far, this has been a string about Kirby's brochure. How about some examples of what works for other people.

You notice that too? LOL

01-08-2002, 09:36 PM
This could be happening. Due to the fact that this thread is three pages long, members might be reading the first page of posts. They are viewing the brochure and then requesting that it be mailed to them. They probably quickly scanned the rest of the thread and saw that a lot of others were requesting a copy and figured they would too.
They probably don't realize that Ray lost his copy.
No big deal. Doesn't mean they left school early. ;)

01-08-2002, 10:11 PM
It was a joke Jodi. (Yes I understand the reason for why it is happening..that is what makes it funny)

I usually read (scan) things completely before replying....

01-08-2002, 10:32 PM
LOL, I see I was not the only one...;)

01-09-2002, 07:01 PM
:) if the elusive brochure ever makes its way back to your yard i would like a copy too ......if it doesnt well....uh ...thanks anyway ,Kenny..............I lose stuff on my puter all the time dont feel bad !!

01-13-2002, 11:58 PM
No one here has this brocure? I sent out probably 50 copies.....

01-14-2002, 09:16 AM
I luckily found your file on a backup cd from my old pc. I tried to attached it to this message, but the file is 3.8MB. I can't get by my email file limit size of 3 MB either. Let me know how to get it to you and I'll do my best to send it asap.

01-14-2002, 10:26 AM
Oh, Hey Ray. Didn't know you were posting in this thread. :p

01-14-2002, 10:57 AM
Sombody help 'ol Kirby out......so I can get me copy...lol

01-14-2002, 10:03 PM
:D if just one guy would step up to the plate it would be great

01-15-2002, 06:15 AM
I have 2 people trying to send it to me, the file size is too large for email. Hopefully I will get a copy soon.

01-15-2002, 01:18 PM
I couldn't find it on my computer either. Did Guido post it at his site by any chance? Might be easier to download from there than the E-mail dilemna. Speaking of the Air Force, anybody talk to him lately??

01-15-2002, 01:42 PM
Nope, I didn't see it on his site either. I had it on X-Drive and hoped we could just re-post it there but looks like the free services are over there.:( One member has it but does not have Publisher, it was downloaded from X-Drive and he can't open it to remove the large photos since he does not have Publisher.

If anyone has it and can set up an account at: http://communities.msn.com/home, post the file for upload and it should work.

01-15-2002, 03:39 PM
They look great Ray, can I get a copy too. Thanks tramahor@aol.com

01-15-2002, 05:12 PM

01-18-2002, 01:10 PM
Looks as if no one is reading this thread. While I would love to send out copies to everyone that is either PM'ing or emailng me asking for a copy please note the multiple post above.......

I do not have a copy right now.... I lost it and I am looking for someone to send me a copy back.

Now, I have several people that have the file, it was downloaded from X-drive or I-drive before they went under. Is there anywhere where a file that is 2.2 mb can be uploaded?

OR does anyone have the file and a CD burner? IF so copy it to CD and mail it to me. I will post it on my web site if I ever get it again.....

01-18-2002, 01:11 PM

01-18-2002, 04:59 PM
i would also like a copy if possible. i like the layout of the flyer as well the as different colors used to help the flyer. i would like to be able to read the writing and i cant from the publisher site. thank you

01-18-2002, 11:21 PM
Very professional looking. Would you mind e-mailing me a copy as well.

thanks, Jim

02-02-2002, 02:24 AM
Can you send me a copy of the flyer also??

02-02-2002, 12:35 PM
HAHAHA. Sorry Ray- I dont have a copy, I never saw the original thread, but I just had to comment on how many people aren't reading. THe confusing part was that the original posts were from january of last year, so they look consecutive. What caught my eye was a post from Eric, thats when I checked the date. I hope one of the few people that still have it send you a copy soon! Good luck!

02-02-2002, 01:04 PM
Nice job Ray!

If it isn't too much of a bother, could ya send me a copy as an attachment by email. Thanks a bunch...rodfather

02-02-2002, 01:36 PM
YEa funny, no copy still and people are still asking for one.:(

02-02-2002, 09:38 PM
 I give up, can someone PLEASE close or move this thread. I still have people asking me for a copy of a flyer I have repeatedly said I lost and do not have a copy of it anymore.

Someone please take me out of my misery....[

02-02-2002, 09:55 PM
Ray, you are killing me here.

I will close this thread for now. If you decide you want it re-opened or moved, just let me know.

BTW Ray, could you send me a copy of the brochure too. Pretty please. ;)
