View Full Version : Amsoil 2-cycle oil?
Has any body used the Amsoil 2 cycle oil? From what I have read, (correct me if I am wrong) is that you mix a can of 100-1 and use this for all of the 2 cycle engines. If I am reading this correctly, this is grate! Thanks.

You can get away with mixing errors, better than most. We usually throw in 8 ounces with 5 gallons of gasoline for an 80:1 ratio. A little richer or leaner isn't going to hurt at that point. We've been using it for about 8 years, no failures
I recently went to amsoil from stihl 50-1.
I also recommend 80-1.At 100-1 motors sounded
like they might be turning a little to much rpm.
Also i did have to replace plugs in some of my
2cycles.Im not sure why.THE STUFF DOES RUN CLEAN

100-1 is what I've been mixing in all 2 cycles for 4 years now with no problems at all. If you are currently using petroleum based oil you may have to change plugs because of the carbon buildup.
I use it in a Husky blower, Lawn Boy 4.5 hp and string trimmers. No problems, after a lot of hours. Good Luck.

Do a search on amsoil. You will find a lot of past discussions on this topic.

If you want lots of smoke, are into decarbonizing, enjoy replacing spark plugs and don't mind premature breakdowns then use anything but Amsoil 100:1. As for me its mow, blow, doe,go.
Been using Amsoil since 1979. No problems, just LESS SMOKE!
