I have only used the telescoping Power Pruner, the 26 cc one, and can say, I wasn't too impessed with the power of it, then again I am used to 35-70 something cc chainsaws! It was a real labor saver, But I wonder if the stihl version is better.

just for limbing palms, the echo cs300 does fine. I upgraded to the 14 in blade and stihl chains. The OEM chains are crap. But the saw is great for stuff like that. Just clean here and keep her oiled.
Runs about $200.

Stihl 018C is a good choice as well.

I have done this with palms, and my saws were either the Husky pole pruner (326p5), the 335xpt, and the 346. just depending on what saw i had and how tall the palms were!

The echo pole prunner is over 5 bills I believe..

i've been taught that the usage of chainsaws are not recomended on any type of palm and that pole saws or handsaws should be used instead. but maybe the guy i work for just likes me to earn my 12.50 an hour. or maybe because he's one of like, 8 in the ISA in san antonio and that makes me believe what he tells me...
