I would like to do some aeration this fall but have no idea what to charge per yard. I know this is vague, esp. when you guys dont know the exact yard; but most of the yards are .5 - 1 acre. I plan on using a rented ventrac w/ aerator attachment. This is 130.00 per day. I can probably do about 10 yards in 1 day so i was thinking like 35 yard. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, how many times do u go iver a yard w/ an aerator?

35 a yard is WAY too cheap for a specialized service such as this. 1/2 acre lawns around here go for around $150.

Usually, as a rule of thumb, charge 3X's the price of the lawn.

Rule of thumb for a premium service like just aerating is $10 per 1000 square feet with a 50 or 75 bucks minimum per job. Add in overseeding and starter fert and you're up around $28 or $30 per thousand square feet of prop.

What ever you do, don't go low in your pricing...

have you ever pushed an aerator around a yard? It'll make a man out of you and you'll be cussin cause you only charged $35. If you were gonna charge $35 for aeration then what do you charge to cut lawns. Charging too low ruins the market! Is the ventrac a pull behind type areator? The pull behinds are much more forgiving on the body but are hard to get in tight spots.

dont come around my lawns doing 35 buck jobs. I always do them for 3 x the mowing cost. Please charge accordingly. It only helps you and the rest.
