Could someone tell me exactly how the placing of the spacers above or below the spindle changes the way the cut looks?

I have read on here that anything less than two spacers below the spindle comprises the cut quality. How exactly does it do that?

Also, does any of this affect striping.

Ability,

If you raise the blade too high in the deck you reduce the size of the air chamber abover the blades. Keep in mind that to a degree the decks purpose is to move air. It's air that lifts the grass so the blade can cut it and it's air that carries the grass out the side of the machine. Varying the size of this chamber can cause different effects on the performance of the deck. The two spacer rule is pretty general but it's also accurate most of the time.

Thanks

Terry
