I found it 99 when it was the old forum. I had found that one from a link at Roy Padgett's Small Engine Warehouse site, that sent you to Turfquip and then there was a link to Lawnicure
I think I found it in an issue of Turf Magazine. Sure am glad I did.

When we first got this forum up, it didn't have that question, so if yours doesn't have that in or the age question, just delete what's in your profile completely and copy and paste this section below in that box and then fill it out. If your only missing one of these, just add the question and fill it out.

Oh, by the way, I found a link at Grassmasters site, http://www.lawnservicing.com to Lawnicure.com in June 1999 and became a member in July 1999, then it changed to Hallofforums.com, to http://www.lawnsite.com.

That was a very good question Vibe Ray.
I found this site for us, strange as it sounds,
when I was reading a beanie baby newsgroup.
Somehow the newsgroup went off topic, and someone
asked if anyone knew a good lawn care site, and
http://www.lawnsite.com was listed. That was the end
of January last year, and we've been reading
this every since.

I found this site through the IDEA stage off of the lawn mowers and tracter forum. Got a few e-mails and then hallofforums.com happened.

Best wrong turn I've taken so far. LOL

I was looking for an online parts dealer, forgot the name, and started searching. I ended up at Lawnservicing.com then found the two forums on delphi and this one. I stuck with the best of course!

I found Laensite through the now defunct HallofForums. I found HallofFroums through the now defunct LawnIcure. I found LawnIcure through Chuck Smiths Snow plowing page. I found Chuck Smiths Snow plowing page through Chuck's Chevy truck pages. I found Chucks' Chevy truck page through his signature on a usenet message that he posted. I found the usenet newsgroup from....

turfquip's perspective...
I'm proud that my web site, turfquip.com has played a small role in building a core group of LawnSite believers.
Trading banners with LawnSite is a mixed blessing. On the one hand, it skews turfquip classified advertising revenues.
The positive effect is yet another direction in which consumers find turfquip. Net result: Enhanced value for the dealers and others that actually are willing to pay to reach this consumer segment. I myself can make a market play or two with increased confidence.
Modus operandi moving forward, a downside for Chuck remains the missed opportunity for classified revenues. When these type of divergent forces exist within the very same market it often hints the necessity of a merger...or more conservatively, consolidated thinking. Look at the airline industry.
This is the time really for a couple of world class, visionary type manufacturers to step forward, begin acquiring minority interests; even directorships in sites like Chuck's, turfquip, maybe a couple more. Not because of their names or potential branding opportunities necessarily, but by the markets they bring.
But hey let's keep this a secret; maybe an epiphany for industry do-ers?
