View Full Version : THREAD OF THE YEAR AWARD!

Skip the Grammies we could have our very own thread of the year award. Not necessarily the most positive or constructive thread but the one that got the most attention and made the biggest impact on our thinking. I'm sure chuck and Eric have some thoughts on this idea.

I would like to begin with my own personal nomination: "Pee'in in the Bushes".
Again it may not have been the most glamourous thread but it got a lot of reviews and hey man, it really made me think.
What are your nominations out there in computer land?

"Pee'in in the Bushes". Was a hoot...I still chuckle about it when it comes up. I know it is not a glamorous subject and it realy P.O.'d Phil. But it was the occasional light hearted humor we needed and a real fact of life. LOL

Kutnkru, can you edit your post and put the link to the green spool of tread? If everyone would put the link in with their vote, it will be better so we all know.

My appologies ... I was being tongue and cheek about a "green spool" referring to fabric thread.

My first thought was pee-in in the bush's, then I thought about the scrub post. But after reading Eric's nominee I don't know how I missed it, I have to agree.

First place goes to greased Balls.

Second place pee-in in the bush's

Third place scrubs.

Grasboy's last post was 11 months ago. He's still M.I.A.

The reason Grasboy hasn't posted in so long is because he has been busy. You see when I saw the thread he started I couldn't resist, I had to take him up on it. Unlimited service for $20/month. It had to be too good to be true! Well it isn't. He has mowed my lawn weekly, sprayed fungicides, insecticides, mulched over 30 yards, trimmed over 30 bushes once a month, pruned my azaleas, planted 250 pansies, planted 400 bulbs, done leaf removal, aeration, seeding, weed control, cleaned my gutters, installed a storm door, changed the oil in my wife's car, washed the dog, fixed my clothes dryer, runs my errands, babysits my 11 month old daughter, does my grocery shopping, calls back all of my customers, sends out my invoices, runs to the dealer for oil mix/blades/etc., and regraded my driveway. So you see, he has been busy earning that $20/month. But I gave him a five dollar bonus for Christmas so I'm thinking I can get him to work a little harder for those big bucks that I'm paying him next year. He has one other customer so I'm sure he's making some serious cash.

Yea maybe we should have categories:
Election post--most educational and bitching
Grasboys post---funny and unbelievable
greasing balls post by BOB-- most funny

I think a plaque should be posted on this site for the MAN Keith. All who pass thru our Halls of Wit (and knowledge) should realize the magnitude of forces and entities they are dealing with.

Hats off to Keith.

Yes, I got my little story off the net

I think it would have been funnier if it was true instead of a copy off of the internet.

I'm curious - whatever happened with the fund for Chuck's cruise? I got real involved with the posts and wondering if Phil was actually a "hawk" on steroids. Then the thread just stopped.

I was rummaging thru some old threads looking for some insight and found this thread.

I do not find Yardsmith's delimmea here amusing, but could relate to his responses. Having walked a mile in his shoes I found it refreshing to see it in writing that I too was not the only one to lose his mind over brain dead customers.

Thanks yardsmith for a moment of sanity in this insane field we call...The Green Industry.

I agree with Charles for once. I think there are some excellent post on here, but to be fair someone should come up with different categories. Set up a nominating committee to select the post for each category then allow only registered members to vote for their favorites. We should do this once a year and send the winners a placque.
