Has anyone had an inginition problem with a Chevy V-8 where it starts sometimes and runs for a few minutes then shuts down instantly? I have replaced the coil, had the sensor checked in the dist. , replaced plug wires (they were due) , new cap and rotor, and replaced a bare wire leading to the coil. Right now its not getting any spark at all.

Had the ignition module check at the auto store , checked out good.

Are you sure its a spark problem, not fuel pump or regulator.
Will it always start then run for a moment the shut off, or will it not start at all.

It will not start now, replaced the coil once and it ran for a couple of blocks, checked the module then replaced with another new coil let it run off and on then it up and quit now it wont start has no fire.

If there is no "check engine" light on, then start checking for bare wires or the coil may not be grounding good, clean all the connections there with some tuner-bath re check the firing order and make shore the coil wire has a good connection to the cap/rotor.Sometimes those GM caps have that spring loaded coil connector (were it mates to the rotor) i have seen then bend over and make a bad connection. But i really think its a short or bad ground on the coil. other than that, you got me stumped.

check if the advance weights are snapping back. If not, the timing will be off. Spray a little WD40 on the weights and see if its the problem.
