Deck size - speed - overlap

I am going to gin something up in excel but I was wondering if someone out there has a formula that will take into acount these variables to tell how long it will take to mow a given area.

Try this...

@80% = (top speed *.80) * (deck size)/99 = acres/hour
@100% = (top speed *1.00) * (deck size)/99 = acres/hour


For example, I have a 2003 simplicity with a 38" deck, capable of 5.8 mph top speed. If I ran the mower at 80% of its top speed, I would be able to cut 1.78 /hour

(5.8*.80)*38/99 = 1.7810

This does not take into account hills, trees, obstacles, etc.

Thanks, no need for the trees and hills. Just want to check some mfg/dealer claims.

Just go on the Exmark website..........
They've got a calulator for acres per hour with given deck sizes, speeds, 80 or 100% efficiency, etc.
