I made the jump today and ordered a new dixie chopper 2002 50" deck with side discharge/mulch kit and double blades (gators and high lift) The dealer told me that dc does have a kit to keep the blades at 90 degree angle i will now for sure next week. Thanks to all of you for the advice given on this site it made my choice a lot easier. exmark was in the running but dixie won, better spindles, engine cooler, manual clutch, foot operated height ajustment, lifetime warranty on the frame, turbine air filter system and the list goes on.

Congratulations on your new Chopper. What I think your dealer is talking about is DC has a blade that is shaped with a dip in the middle to accept another blade so that all 4 tips will be level and cutting at the same height. I haven't purchased a set, but it sounds like a good idea. I hope you enjoy your new machine as much as I do mine.

----------
Eric@ELM
