Transferring a warranty?

I'm looking at buying a used TTHP 52" that is a year old. I've talked to my local Exmark dealer and he said he can handle the transfer but I forgot to ask about the specifics.

Is the serial number entered into a database when it is sold for the first time so the true date of purchase is recorded?

Will I need the original receipt from the person I am buying it from or will my local dealer just look at the machine?

Fuzzy,

Most likely the original purchase date is in our database and all your dealer will need to do is go online and change the owner registration information. You should not need to original sales receipt.
