weight on a lazer Z HP????

Hi Terry,
lazer Z HP with 52-inch deck 23 hp Kawasaki.
Model# LHP5223KA
Serial# 279318
Question on my Lazer Z hp It got some kind off weight about 40 pounds, I think its black cast iron. Right behind the engine, and says eXmark on it.
Is it there for a reason. Or can I just take it off ?????? Thank you very much, I love this site.

The weight is there to maintain proper balance of the mower. Do not remove it......please.

P.S. It use to take me 2 hours just to cut my yard (front and Back). Now I did my yard, and my neighbors yard in under 40 minutes. I love my eXmark. (52inch 23hp Kawasaki) And I should add the cut lawns looks GREAT!! Thanks Again Rambo13

I bought the eXmark and now the grass has stop growing, unbelievable.
P.S. yes its is to much fun, to call it work now. I can't wait to cut again. Its alsmost as much fun as driving my motorcycle, without the babe in the back... Rambo
