I'll be hauling grass, mulch, dirt etc. I also will be using it for snow plowing.

If useing for snowplowing then get a smaller bed if it is for tight areas. Also, a f 550 isn't much more money than a f 450. Only difference is the rear end.

I would definatly go with a 11' box especially if you are hauling bulky stuff you want to get the most onto the truck a 9' box wouldn't even strain a 550.

If you are going for a new truck a F-550 is a good choice but so will a F-450 it all depends on what you are going todo with the truck.

dont forget the gvw of the truck doesnt change with a bigger bed, so u will still only be able to get the same amount of weight in a 9 foot or 11 foot bed

When you have a 11' box and a lwb truck you can get more weight on it more of a legal load. A swb truck with a 9' box you CAN NOT get enough weight forward a 9' box is pretty much only good for hauling gravel.

If your hauling bulky stuff a 11' box is better its also better if you have to carry lumber or long items. A 9' box is pretty much only good for a stone mason where they pack yard or two of sand etc.

11 ft. Mine is 11 ft with 4 ft high sides and can get 11 yds of mulch. I run out of space before i come close to overloading with mulch, bruch, etc.
