96 or 97 dodge ram 1500 series v 8... ?

I am looking to buy this truck, has a BRAN new tranny. Going to be using it for plowing this winter.. NOW, what is the best plow to use on this truck?

Another ? is that when you start it up, it smokes for around 15 min, not ALOT of smoke, just enough like the valve stem seals are bad? My 82 dodge ram with a 318 does the same thing. Whatcha all think?

There is a reason it has a new tranny. They are known for being on the weak side. And smoking too? I would stay away. Far far away. No way that truck is going to hold up if you plow with it.
