Well, it seems quite ironic, but my 11-year old neighbor ran over a few hockey pucks with their cub cadet tractor and flung them across the street after splitting them in half. One of them, hits my Explorer, putting a hockey puck size dent in it. Has this ever happened to anyone else, and how do I approach the problem and fix it? Like, how do I tell them this happened and ask for money to fix it?

Don't hesitate to go over and confront the neighbors. payup

If you damaged their car, I'm sure they wouldn't.

It sounds like neighbor kid was cutting his own grass?
If that's the case, parents homeowners insurance will cover it in a heartbeat. Of course you should say something, they shouldn't have any problem turning it into insurance.

Approach the parents asap. Be nice about it. Explain the situation. Let them come up with a solution, first. If agreeable with everyone involved, there are no hard feelings. Don't let the situation linger. If everyone acts responsibly, like adults, everything should work out just fine.

I'd confront them, my idiot neighbor kids play golf and every other sport in their front yard and for some reason my truck is the endzone, green, and home base all the time, i'm waiting to hear glass shatter one of these days.

You should have immediately gone to their home and showed them the damage along with the hockey puck.

Gentlemen, up here in the Northeast, Hockey and Ham radio are both popular. Hockey when you are younger, then when older and your legs are gone, Ham Radio comes into play. Sorry if it messed anyone up...no secrets, just Ham jargon.

Well actually I forgot to mention it could have been worse. At the time I was standing next to my trailer and pucks were flying at me, luckily none of them hit me, but the Explorer instead.

If you were standing there when it happened then that was the time to go to them about it. Now would be too late for an easy fix.

I was just getting ready to say that 73...Not 73's...is a ham radio saying. 73 = best wishes therefore, 73's = best wishes's....LOL

I myself am a ham radio operator....N4JEV

You shuld try hitting a golfball w/ mower, i have shot 2-3 thru fake stucco homes on the golf course,by accident(overgrown turf). Years ago i would go cut this s@#thole trailer park for a guy i worked for and it was unavoidable to not run over trash or what ever else that was thrown out in the foot tall grass. This place was disgusting. I would hit somthing and it would put holes in the brittle and dryrotted skirts of the trailers two inches-two feet in diameter. I HOPE ALL WORKS OUT AND THEY TAKE CARE OF THE DOOR FOR YOU,MAYBE TEACH THE KID HOW TO CUT AND ONE DAY COME WORK FOR YOU
