Suzuki I think

The valve cover resembles suzuki late 80's early 90's so I guess suzuki also.

Don't think it's a Briggs...I have a 6.5hp Briggs Proline....don't think they made a 6hp....

I Must be Out of the Loop....Was there actually a 4cycle 6hp OHV Suzuki ?

that is a briggs!

airfilter cover = Briggs
Rope pulley = Briggs
Oil dipstick tube = Briggs

Trust me on this.

I'd go with a Kawasaki. Toro only has the special 1 gallon gas tank for the Kawasaki model. I may be wrong though. It doesn't look like a Kawasaki though, but it may be.

Toro can put any tank they want on it its still a briggs!

Go buy a air filter for that engine, see what package it comes in. Briggs!

It's a little older Suzuki. I can tell by the air box.

It's either a Suzuki 2-cycle or Kawasaki 4-cycle and since Suzuki didn't make a 6.0HP OHV engine it HAS to be a Kawasaki. I found a site that shows a pic of the mower with a better description.

the 6.5hp Briggs is last on the right....It's definately not the Kaw...the earlier Kaw. didn't have the big tank & the new Kaw. looks nothing like it....Must be a Briggs that passed me by because saw mans right...has the Briggs muffler cover...

It simply is a Briggs and Stratton engine.
Toro will not tell you, but 99% of dealers out there know this is a Briggs engine, it does not have any Briggs decals on it.
I sold a fair share of these mowers in my dealer days.
The mower is a Toro model 22151 made between 1992 and 1996.
The engine is what Toro called a GTS 150
Go to Toro's website and use there parts lookup, enter the 22151 model # and look at the engine diagrams.
Anyone that has had the opportunity to look up Briggs parts will see that the parts diagrams are Briggs diagrams.
Toro has used engines over the years that they are the only one to sell parts.
Saw-Man is correct in his statement, the the parts actually come with a Toro sticker over a Briggs part #, and in a Briggs box.

Hope this helps.

B&S Intek 6.0 OHV is the only thing close to what that is and according to Toro Proline here's what they have in what when it comes to self propelled with a 6.0 engine.

Model: 22171
• Powerful Kawasaki® 6.0hp 4-cycle engine

Model: 22172
• Powerful Kawasaki® 6.0hp 4-cycle engine

Out of the 12 listed Commercial grade prolines, non of them had a B&S. Most of the 5.5Hps had the 2cycle Suzuki except for 3 which had a Honda and all of the 6.0's and 6.5's had a Kawa.

But if that pic is a briggs then it wasn't bought that way. LOL

Attaching a pic of a B&S OHV Intek which according to B&S that's the closest thing I could find but this shows one with a built in gas tank. That's the only thing throwing me off.

But what do I know, I'm new. :pumpkin:

So that steal it back website has the wrong description when it says 6.0 OHV. OH well, my google searches almost had me talking like I knew something. LMAO  ;)

This unit is older, between 1992 and 1996.
I sold these, I know for a fact, it is a Briggs engine.
Toro would spec these engines from Briggs with covers made for Toro only.
Look it up on Toro's website under there parts look up system, look up a model 22151, then go look at the engine diagrams.

Ya, after I got all heavy in to looking for current stuff I realized that I was a ****** for even pushing the issue but. I am on the site now looking at the engine parts for the 22151.

I will never doubt you guys again unless I actually own one of whatever is being questioned. haha
