Welcome Bryan.
In Illinois the general rule of thumb for aerating is
21/2 times cutting rate.If you feel your cutting rate is
low, go to 3x. I charge between $60-$80 fot an average
size lot.
Your rate on fertilization seems high to me.You would
charge $53 for an 8,000 sq. ft. lot. If you can get it
more power to you.
Dethatching is a different beast.Best way to go is to
take your hourly rate and increase it. Measure the yard to get the sq. ft. It takes approx. 1 hr. to machine rake 11,000 sq.ft. and approx. 1 hr. to bag 8000 sq.ft.. The toughest part is trying to figure out how much grass you will take with you.
Not as much competition so cover your ass with your price. We charge $35 per man hr. plus $35 fix cost for the
dethathing machine.$2.25 per bag of grass. Average house
is approx. $200-$250.
Good luck
Bryan your prices seem to be ok to me. 40 dollars for 1st thousand then 7 every after, Plus your cost on seed or whatever your putting down averages around 160 dollars per average yd 10k. Plus it doesn't take very long to seed. If you feel you need to make a better profit add on to equip-use.
