What is a Y turn with a ztr?
Kinda like a 3 point turn. Some do this with ztr's to decrease turf damage on lawns.

We do Y turn with our walk behinds on steep hillsides to keep front of mower facing to the uphill sides as we turn around for the next pass. When u come to the side edge of the lawn traveling across (versus up & down) u turn about 30 degrees uphill, stop then turn while backing up to position u rite in line for the next pass across the yard. Hard to explain, but its a must for some of our lawns in the simple fact that u dont want to face the mower down hill on steep slopes because the weight transfer to the front, removes the traction factor from the back wheels and u will go sliding down a hill uncontrolably.

A Y turn is where you turn toward the uncut side or the next pass side until you are 90 degrees to what you were. Then reverse with what was the inside wheel to complete the 180 degree turn. Hard to explain with words, easy to show with machine.
