I have a Craftsman pressure washer, with a Briggs and Straton engine. Its a recoil pull start. Problem is when I pull the cord, it comes out a few inches and then just stops. The washer was leaking oil, this is my dads, I told him to get the gaskets but he didn't listen. Now are we looking at a seized motor? How easy are these to fix?

remove the pump from the engine. It might be the pump that has crapped the bed, not the engine. If it still wont turn over, remove the housing where the pull starter is, remove the spark plug and try to turn over the engine by hand. This eliminates everything except an internal failure. To repair the engine.. not worth it. If its a pricey pressurewasher, install a new engine. If not, replace the whole unit.

Try some PB Blaster spray down the spark plug hole. Put it in pretty heavy and let it sit overnite. We've had luck with that in the past. about 50-50

Try Marvel Mystery Oil, that works a little better than PB inside engines.
