Spend a few extra bucks and get the Redmax 8000. It's worth it...I know...I have both the 7001 and 8000.

I know I already posted about getting the 8000. But, if you have to decide between the 7001 and the 650 (not 651), get the 650. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I have a Echo 650 too.

What did you get for your stihl?
I might get rid of one of mine. My 420c is two yrs old, and the regular 420 is four yrs old.

I have Stihl, Redmax 7000, 7001 and 8000.
The 7000 and 7001 are awesome. But the 8000...its just down right dirty. You can tell some difference in it over the 7001 just regular blowing, but get it into some back stuff, and you really find out how bad this thing is.

Oh, according to the book the 7001 uses more gas than the 8000. I would not have believed it, that is until yesterday. The 8000 has a bigger motor, blows harder and uses less fuel. So you get done faster and it cost you less money on fuel. Humm...

I have the 650 and am expecting the 7001 to be delivered tomorrow. I'll let you know in a couple of days. I do have a feeling I'll like the 7001 better though. :)

Amen Hoss!!! I just bought a new 8000 two weeks ago, and all I can say is I thought my EB7000 was awesome. The 8000 has to blow at least 25% more. I have been using a little less fuel to boot. The lumbar strap on the 8000 helps to reduce the fatigue on those lawns that require alot of back-pack blowing.

I have a Echo 650, RedMax 7001 & 8000. I put better (RedMax) straps on the 650. My employees like the 650 best (mostly because of the left hand throttle The 7001 has a RH throttle. My guys say its too hard to hold down with your finger for long periods of time( the throttle lock won't keep it fully open) They won't use the 8000 1.9 extra pounds is just too much for delicate little 5' 11" & 6'2" 24 to 32 year old babies. The 8000 LOOKS much bigger. I think they're just intimidated by it.

7100 wt. 21.5 lbs right hand throttle
650 wt. 23.0 lbs left hand throttle
8000 wt 24.9 lbs left hand throttle

The 8000 really is heavy ( but I'm 51 years old) For daily use I don't see much benefit in the extra power. When we get some heavy leaves falling, I'm prepared to be impressed.

I use echo blowers. I just bought a pb651h on ebay for $420. It actuall is more powerful than the EB7001.

Echo PB651:
63.3 cc engine
620 cfm at the tube
1000 cfm at the housing
205 mph air speed at the nozzle

EB7001:
62.0 cc engine
742 cfm at housing
does not list cfm at tube
204 mph

I have heard good things about the redmax. I'm just an echo kinda guy.

USNOWME,

The Redmax 7001 is 650cfm at the pipe.

Well I received the 7001 today or was it yesterday??? Kind of a funny story....

I purchased the blower using Buy It Now on Tuesday. The seller said it would be delivered Thursday (yesterday) and when I got home I didn't see it. So I figured it would be here today. Well, it was getting late in the day and a UPS truck delivered a package across the street but did not stop at my house. So I emailed the seller and explained. I asked him to check the status of the delivery. He emailed me back and told me it was delivered yesterday and was left on the back porch. I look out the back door and sure enough... there it was! The thing is I did peek the mini blinds of the back door yesterday to see if was there, but the blinds only open to certain point not allowing me to see it tucked up close to the door. I could have been playing with it all day today. :(

Anyway... first impression. It's amazing that a couple of pounds lighter is noticeable. It feels more comfortable then the PB650. I like it!
