Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two blowers? Thanks!

7001 is newer than the 7000. I can't find the specs on the 7000 but I know the 7001 has more cfm. Be careful in that redmax often measures cfm at the housing not the end of the tube.

I have both and can tell you there is not much difference between the two. BTW, I traded in a 7000 last week for an 8000 and can tell you there is ALL the difference in the world between those two backpacks.
The 8000 is so strong I'm dedicating the two I have for just Fall & Spring cleanups and the other BP's we have (Echo 650's and Redmax 7001's) just for the mowing season.

Sorry, but the power difference between the 7000 and 7001 is very noticeable. All my help will grab the 7001 or the older 6200 before they grab the 7000.
I don't know the specs on those two and don't really care to look them up, but I would say to stay away from the 7000. With the 7001 and now the 8000, there's no need to settle for any less than one of those two blowers.

I think the 7001 has holes in the back of the blower housing to cool you down.

From the books:
7000 cfm : 730
7001 cfm : 855
8000 cfm : 971

note those cfm's are at the housing not tube

Tube or w/out tube. Who really cares about all the numbers on paper. Numbers are not always correct. Heard of sandbagging?
Anyway, I've done the testing with echo and Redmax blowers. Others have also. You have people with both...more of them have the conclusion that Redmax is the stronger. A few have the thought of echo stronger. I've run several side by side...and the reason you see more people on here wanting Redmax is for a reason.

Redmax was a tube aka strength tester for blowers redmax 1, echo 2,shindawia 3,
I dont know the diff. between 7000 + 7001 but i have 3 7000's and one got run over this year so it has just been sitting around .so my bestfriend, also a lco, runs w/2 7001's and one of them had a bad carb .he bought the rebuild kit and it still did not run . I gave him the carb off my broke 7000 and it works fine. i think the engine + carb may be the same ,but the 7001 has a larger tube and different padding.
