this must be another "new" feater. In the past if I wanted ot ad a picture ot a post I could do it even if I had posted the same picture in a different thread in the past.
Now I try to ad a picture and I get a message that I can't because I used the same pic already, even if it was in a completely unrelated topic last year.
I see in the user cp page that there is a list of the pics I have attached in the past. Is there a way to access these to attatch or referense one to a new post?

I believe you can go into user cp, under attachments, and delete any attachments that you want to reuse. I believe that works.

I didn't answer cause I don't know the answer, I guess you would just have to try it out on one pic and see what happens.
Also, you can do this. Take the picture you want to repost, and very slightly resize it just a tad smaller. The pic will then be recognized as a new picture.

Thank yo for your help jodi.

Is the person who did the site upgrade available for some more insight:?

I don't get the logic of having to delete or rename a pic just so I can repost it.

You don't know? I would be willing to bet that if you deleted a pic, it would be gone from the first post.
I would guess that this feature is there to save bandwidth. Try linking to the pic that you have already uploaded.

See how easy?
1)Go to the original post, right-click the pic.
2) Copy the location.
3) In the new post, click the little picture above the text box, the one that says, "Insert image."
4)Paste the location in the popup window., and click OK.
5) Submit your post.
6) Thank Crawdad for teaching you how to do it.

Of course I do, was there ever any doubt? I have the membership's interest at heart at all times. We are all brothers and sisters of the lawn industry.
I'm always glad to help out, and always the first to notice when you don't know the answer. :waving:

Thank you, thank you, thank you Crawdad,

That is exactly what I was looking for. I figured that if they werer allready uploaded there was a way to reference them again, but I didn't have a clue as to how to do it. Your instructions make perfect sence though and I will now have to look for a place the post a picture again so I can try it.

It is still not as easy as it used to be but it'l do. Thanks again

Paul :) :) :D

You are entirely welcome.
Funny how "updates" can make things more complicated sometimes, eh?

Quick and easy way is just to rename the pic. on your computer. Say from mower.jpg to mower1.jpg.

It works but it is still a big pain in the grass to find the last post I used the picture in or to rename it.

I liked the old way of poting picures better. faster and easier.

Since when I try to pist a picture it tells me the post I used it in last, why can't it atomaticaly reuse the picture?

How is it a pain to find the previous post, if it tells you where it is?

It was alot faster and less steps to just have the picture load when you browse for it. Where it used to get the pic and upload it, now it just lists the last thread I used that picture in. Then I have to go to that thread and try to find my post with the picture. Then I can Copy the link into the new post.

BTW I DO NOT have high speed internet. When your only at 33.6 or slower modem speed every page makes a difference. Maybe that is why I'm the only one bothered by it.

I would just delete all the pictures in my profile if I could get the webmaster to answer my question.
If the pics are deleted in my profile, can they still be vewed in the original thread/post?

Not getting an answer because perhaps they don't know. I have a slow connection, too. Try it and let us know. I would say, if you delete it, it's gone from the original post.
