Scoring concrete vs Stamped

I am planning an outdoor concrete patio and would like to have the surface either scored or stamped.Is there
an advantage to one process over the other?
This patio will be connected to an existing covered porch with concrete(broom finish). I am told this surface can be treated the same after a 2 inch layer of concrete is formed over it.

Have you considered pavers ove stamped concrete? Concrete will crack where pavers will not. Personally,i like the look of pavers over concrete.
