Just got back from Mexico. My wife and I went to the Riveria Maya which is about one hour south of Cancun. It was real nice on the resort, but outside the gates, you begin to realize why so many immigrants are coming to the states to work. Anyway, started talking to a young guy who was from Holland and was completing a intership program at the resort. He asked me what kind of work I did, and I told him I owned a landscape business. After a bit of conversation, he told me that the landscape staff at the resort worked six days a week, and a half day on the so called "off" day. The rate of pay is $85.00 dollars per month. On top of that, they have to pay for any tools they break and uniforms. It is great to be an american, where we have the chance to make $85.00 per hour.
