I might be purchasing a white Dodge Ram Cargo Van 2500 from my cousin for about 5k, 1997.. it runs pretty good, RWD and a v8..
It has lots of space in the backroom and is a 2 seater..
I was wondering, what can you use a cargo van for?
ie) I know you can use it to store lawn mowers, power equipment and stuff.. but Idont think it would be useful to haul stones, debris away because its in the backroom, lol..
What would you guys use the cargo van for and would you find it useful to have?

you could convert it to a flatbed, through a custom shop i've seen them before but rarely. if you get the right guy to do it it could look nice :cool2:

I have seen guys using vans, suburbans, blazer, ect for hailing debris and clippings ect. They throw a tarp down and load it up. Just yank the tarp out when they unload.
I have used vans for almost 20 years. keep all the blowers ans stuff inside out of prying eyes. I use a 2002 Dodge 2500 Ram Van and pull a 18 foot open trailer with 2 Z riders and Wb mower.I have about 66,000 miles on this van with no probles. I retired a 1988 Ford 1 ton van with 346,000 miles.

We have a 95 Ford Econoline 150 (soon to be upgraded). We normally use it for everyday plant deliveries, and to haul large quantities of plants and other materials to the jobsite. Works great for us!!

Cool, thats a great idea!
Delivery of plants and materials, I am now even more inclined to purchase a cargo van..
NOW, the question is 'what company is a good cargo van company?'

Go with Ford or Chevy (My Opinion). They seem to be the most reliable and easiest to find parts for.

A van??? Please no. Just get an isuzu npr and get it over with. I just don't see any advantage of a van for our business. Also from my experiences Dodge gas engine are junk.

Did you ever think of turning it into a movable office. I saw a article in Turf where they turned a Ford E150 van into a rolling office.
