anyone? I have commercial lawnboys, 6.5 hp. anyone have them set up on their 21's? are they that much better then a standard blade?

this is just my guess, but when i posted awhile ago about putting them on my 15hp walkbehind, it sounded like it would not be powerful enough. im not sure if the same pwoer issue woudl hold true with a push mower.

lets see what others have to say on it...

on the meg mo site, it states that 5 hp is the limit, when talking about 21" push. there is only one "set up" spinning. maybe on a wb, with atleast 2 spinning, you need the power, i don't know. what do you have 32" 36" 48" or larger?

i have a 48" (see sig line). my lawnboy is a 4.5HP i believe, so a meg mo would be holding is down IMO. im not sure if anyone else has tried it, i would be very interested to see how it works. it woudl be very useful in small backyards with leaves...etc.

I haven't tried it yet bet seriously considering it for next year. I think they would have plenty of power

Sorry we have stop selling MEG MO blades for the 21" type mowers as had to much trouble to get them started.Just out of curiosity, was that on mowers without a seperate blade clutch?

The blades are a little heavier and takes to much energy to start. Ropes break, our blades work better on a mower that you engage blades after the mower has started.

thanks for the information. so, that would lead to my next question. i wasn't planning on putting them on my walk behind, cuz i don't really use it too often. 48" bobcat, belt drive 12hp?? meg mo performance on this?

I'm just wondering. Will the meg-mos really put alot mroe stress on the belts and the clutch?

Never used them....

You can attach Doubles to a Com. Lawnboy...Haven't Done it in a While but I believe it was 16" eXmark Aftermarket Notched on top & a LB Blade on Bottom...Tightened to 110 ft/lbs that Worked.

Most push mowers in Aust have swing back blades on a carrier disk.
I have been wondering for a while what the fuss is about Meg-Mo's.
Is there a legal reason why USA mowers use bar blades as standard.

I did not see what 21 inch mower you have, I found a nice Atomic mulching blade for my 21 toro on their web site. All the dealers around my area don't stock it so I had to order it from one of them, they never even heard of it and I had to bring in a part number, so you might want to look up your mowers site and check it out.
