May be a bit of a crazy question but here goes. What is the main difference between zoysiagrass and St. Augustine. On close inspection it looks like the grass blades on the Zoysia are a little more shorter for a start. But if you look at a lawn of each they are pretty close to the same looking.

Fore me tha The main difference is ...... maintanence .... good looking zoysia reguires time & money ...... also the St. Aug lawn is created with plugs or sod .... true most zoysia are sodded ....but there is an availiable seed for zoysia
It grows MUCH slower than the St. Aug and can turn brown once under 70 degrees everyday... its a much softer thinner blade which can and does show a "stripe" when mowed ... of which although can be cut with a rotary mower it shows best when cut with a "reel" mower
