snow - sledding

Well we now have a small snow covering on the lawn - but you can still see the grass coming through in places.

I have a hill on the side of my back yard and now there are kids from next door sledding on it.

Question 1 - Does this ruin the grass? - I would think that it depends on the amount of snow cover. Also the type of sled (with brakes) and the kids using their feet to stop.

Question 2 - Would you let them sled on your property? I'm not a fun wrecker but there are liability issues here to be concerned with. I just read about a local golf course that banned sledding for that reason.

I hate to be a fun wrecker to, but if a kid gets hurt, who do you think mom and dad (and their lawyer) will be looking for? It's awful to think this way, but a lot of people are sue happy now.
