Do you drain all gas out of your equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers etc.) when you finish for the season. What other preventive maintance do you recommend? Thanks for the info.

We have always put fresh fuel into mowers then added Stabil,as for the handheld equipment we drain fuel.We kept all equipment in a heated garage to help with starting every week or so throughout the winter months...

You can find fuel stabilizer or whatever it's called at a gas station or something. You just add a few drops of this stuff and it keeps the gas relatively pure. The stuff we use works on gas/oil mixes as well.

Fill the tank all the way up to prevent condensation inside the tank. Put in Stabil, start it and run it for 5 minutes (each tank). Remove battery

i drain most of the gas out of the mowers and leave just enough to get them into my shed. once they are in i put stabil in because this and running it dry of gas will prevent getting any gummy stuff in the carborator and causing a hard or nearly impossible start in the spring.
Teaspon of Marvel Mystery Oil in the spark plug cylinder......pull cord a few times (or turn key), replace plug. Puts a thin coating of oil on the guts.....

Ken, do you turn the key without the plug in?
